Charlie’s Deviled Eggs

This is another recipe I grew up making, usually for family get togethers. However, I never realized that how they get their name: deviled means to make spicy, like by adding mustard or hot sauce. My family’s recipe was always on the sweeter side but just like with miso soup every family has their own style! This is a basic version of the recipe but when you give it a try, make it TO TASTE! This is a simple and easily customizable recipe so I hope you try it out!

3 eggs
5 tsp mayo1 tsp mustard
2 tsp pickle relish
1/2 tsp sugar
paprika powder
onion powder, salt, pepper, hot sauce, garlic powder

Hard-boil and peel the eggs. Cut the eggs in half and put the yolks in a bowl and the whites on a plate. Mash the yolks a bit then add the rest of your ingredients and mix. It should be creamy and look fluffy. If not, add a bit more mayo and maybe a little mustard. Give it a taste and add as needed. Spoon or pipe (hint: use a plastic baggie and snip the corner!) the mixture into the whites. Dust the paprika powder on top and serve!
